When does HAUT ceramic coating launch?

2027 is the target. We will not put it on a shelf before it is finished, and we will not publish specifications we have not measured — so this page stays a waiting list until there is a real data sheet behind it.

Can I put a ceramic coating over HAUT film today?

Yes, and a coating made for PPF is a good idea — it adds slickness and makes the film easier to clean without affecting self-healing. Avoid abrasive polishes and compounds entirely; they cut the topcoat, and the topcoat is what self-heals.

Is a coating a replacement for paint protection film?

No. They solve different problems. A coating changes the surface chemistry — easier cleaning, more gloss, better water behavior. Film is a physical layer thousands of times thicker that absorbs impact. Most owners who want both put the coating on top of the film.

Will dealers get it automatically?

Approved HAUT shops will be offered it first, at dealer pricing, before it goes wider. Applying to carry our film now puts you in that queue by default.

A ceramic coating is a few microns of chemistry that changes how paint behaves — how it sheds water, how easily it cleans, how deep it looks. We are building one, and we are not going to publish a hardness rating or a durability claim before we have measured it on production chemistry.

Why this page has no numbers on it

Ceramic coating is the category with the loosest claims in this industry — 10H hardness on a scale that stops at 9, ten-year durability on a product that launched last year. We would rather publish nothing than join in.

What we can tell you

It is a ceramic coating built to sit on top of our own film as well as on bare paint, developed by the same team that spent six years testing our PPF before selling it. Target is 2027.

What we will not tell you yet

Hardness, contact angle, durability in years, gloss gain, chemical resistance. Those are the numbers a shop stakes its reputation on, and an estimate published now would be a claim we would have to walk back.

What a coating does not do

It does not stop a rock. A coating is a few microns thick; our film is 160 to 210. Anyone selling you a coating as impact protection is selling you the wrong product — that is the honest answer today and it will still be the honest answer in 2027.
