Black Bentley Continental GT in the install bay

Coverage

10-year limited warranty

Film either holds up or it does not, and the ways it fails are well known. We name them, we cover them for a decade, and we put the claim through the shop that knows your car.

What is covered

The ways we replace the film

These are the defects that show a film was not built to last. If one appears on HAUT film within the term, we replace it.

Cracking

The film loses its elasticity and splits, usually across a hood or along a bumper edge where it was stretched during install.

Delamination

Layers separating, or the film lifting from the paint at an edge without any physical cause.

Blistering

Film that has released the paint under it and risen away in a bubble. It is the same failure as delamination before it reaches an edge, so it is covered on the same terms — bubbles trapped on the day of the install are a different thing, and they are below.

Yellowing, when it arrives far too early

Clear film changes over years of sun. Changing within months does not — that is a defect rather than age, and we replace it. Where the line falls is a judgement we make on the car, with the shop that fitted it.

What is not covered

What we will not pay for

A warranty nobody can rely on is worse than no warranty. Here is exactly where ours stops, in plain language.

  • Impact damage — a rock chip, a scrape, a stone strike. That is the film doing the job you bought it for.
  • A change in colour or clarity over the years. The film takes the sun instead of your paint — that change is ultraviolet absorbed by something you can peel off and replace, rather than by the paint you cannot. When it has taken enough, it gets replaced. That is what a sacrificial layer is for. Yellowing that arrives far too early is a different matter, and it is covered above.
  • Anything that traces back to the installation itself — air trapped under the film on the day, contamination sealed beneath it, a corner over-stretched at fitting. That is between you and the shop that did the work, and a certified shop is the reason that conversation is short.
  • Damage from an accident, vandalism, fire, hail or any other event that would damage the paint underneath.
  • Film installed by a shop that is not HAUT-certified, or film bought outside our supply chain.
  • Damage from harsh chemicals, abrasive polishes, automatic-wash brushes or pressure washing directly into an edge.
  • Paint that was already failing — film cannot fix clear coat that was on its way out before the install.
  • Film applied over a repaint or body filler that lets go. We warranty our film, not another shop's paintwork.
  • Normal wear at high-abrasion points, and staining from contaminants left on the film for long periods.
  • Any film that has been removed and reinstalled.

Keeping the film clean and away from the things on that list is straightforward — our care guide covers it in a page.

Making a claim

Four steps, and we start from the facts

  1. 01

    Photograph it

Wide shot of the panel plus a close-up of the defect, in daylight. Most claims are settled from photographs alone.

  2. 02

    Send it in

Email warranty@haut-usa.com with your registration reference and the photos. If you do not have the reference, your name and VIN will find it.

  3. 03

    We review

We check the registration, the install date and the film batch. Because the install was logged when it happened, this is a record check, not an interrogation.

  4. 04

    It gets replaced

Approved claims go back to your installing shop wherever possible. If that shop is gone or you have moved, we assign another certified installer.

Why registration matters

Why yours will not be refused on paperwork

Every HAUT install is cut from our own pattern library and logged against the shop that cut it. Registration adds the last piece — the vehicle and the owner — so a claim years from now is a lookup rather than an argument.

Warranty questions

This page is a plain-language summary, not the contract. The binding terms, including remedies and limitations, are in our terms and conditions. Coverage applies to film installed by a HAUT-certified shop in the United States and registered by the vehicle owner. HAUT Protection Film Inc., 361 NJ-17, Hackensack, NJ 07601.
