HAUT Protection Film Inc., 361 S State Rt 17, Hackensack, NJ 07601 ("we", "us", "our") operates the haut-usa.com website and store. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you create a store account, purchase film, tools, or other goods, register a product warranty, or otherwise use this site. Use of the HAUT cutting software is covered separately by the HAUT software LLC Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

  • Store Account & Business Data (B2B): contact name, business name, business address, email, phone number, and your confirmation that you are registering on behalf of a business.
  • Order & Shipping Data: products ordered, order history, shipping address, carrier and tracking information, delivery confirmations, and any resale or tax exemption certificates you provide.
  • Payment Information: processed securely by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. As the authorized billing agent for HAUT software LLC, we also process payments for software subscriptions and credits; charges appear on your statement under our name.
  • Warranty Registration Data (vehicle owners): if you register a HAUT film warranty, we collect your name, email, vehicle identification number (VIN), the installing shop, the installation date, and any photographs you submit.
  • Support & Claims Data: communications with our support and warranty teams, including photographs and documents submitted with defect or warranty claims.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser and device information, and basic analytics about how the site is used, collected via cookies and similar technologies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit site functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Orders & Fulfillment: to process orders, arrange shipping, provide tracking, handle returns and defect claims, and calculate applicable taxes (including validating exemption certificates).
  • Billing: to process payments for goods and, as billing agent, for HAUT software subscriptions and credits, including auto-renewals, renewal reminders, and cancellation confirmations.
  • Warranty Program: to record warranty registrations, verify eligibility, administer claims, and arrange replacement installations through certified shops.
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: to protect the store and our customers, investigate payment disputes, and prevent abuse.
  • Communications: service, administrative, order, and billing emails.
  • Improvement: aggregate, de-identified analysis of site and store usage.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal or business data. We share information only as needed:

  • with HAUT software LLC, under a written intercompany agreement — to provision, adjust, or revoke software credits tied to film purchases, and for fraud prevention and enforcement across the HAUT platform;
  • with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL) — name, shipping address, and phone number, to deliver your orders;
  • with certified installation shops — warranty registration and claim details, to verify installations and arrange approved replacement work;
  • with service providers — payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting, email delivery, and support tools, under confidentiality obligations;
  • as required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, customers, or the public;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy continues to apply to previously collected data.

4. Data Retention

  • Store account data: for as long as your account is active, then deleted or de-identified within ninety (90) days of closure, except as below.
  • Order, billing, and tax records: retained for the periods required by law and for up to seven (7) years to establish and defend legal claims.
  • Warranty registrations and claims: retained for thirteen (13) years (the ten-year warranty period plus three years), including after the related store account is closed, so that we can honor the warranty for its full term.
  • Records associated with accounts terminated for fraud or abuse (including hardware and network identifiers): retained for up to seven (7) years to enforce the ban.

5. Security

We maintain industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No system is perfectly secure; if a data breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

6. Your US Privacy Rights

Depending on your state, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to the retention requirements above (for example, we cannot delete an active warranty record without voiding the registration, and we retain records required for tax purposes). We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To exercise them, contact us using the details below; we will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by law.

7. Children

The store is B2B and the warranty program is directed to vehicle owners; neither is directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or site notice, with the version and "Last Updated" date revised accordingly. Prior versions are retained and available on request.
